    SRM dental college (SRMDC)  was started in the year 1996 – 1997 .The college is affiliated to the SRM University of health sciences and is approved by the Dental Council of India, Govt. of India. Ranked No 8 college in the dental category of NIRF- 2022 and Ranked No 10 college in the dental category of NIRF- 2021.The college is recognized by the Dental Council of India, NAAC A++ accredited and is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution.

The college is located in the heart of the city and is sprawling over a large area of over 5.18 acres with a built up area of 4,74,582 sqft. The campus is lush green throughout the year and environment friendly. The complete campus of the SRM Dental College is Wi-Fi enabled and there is an in-house DTP centre that can be used by the students round the clock .There are 2 City union bank ATM’s that are located within the campus that can be easily accessed by the students

All class room's in Institution is centrally air conditioned and are equipped to accommodate 100 -150 students with the latest Audio visual technology. All the class rooms are Wi-Fi enabled and have Smart Class technology to help in Comprehensive learning and Understanding. SRM dental college (SRMDC) has a 3 indoor auditoriums and one out door auditorium within the campus with facilities to accommodate 300-500 people. Conferences, workshops are regularly conducted in these places and the outdoor auditorium is often used to conduct cultural and sports events.

SRM Dental College hospital

The   SRM dental college and hospital has 480+ dental chairs in the Under Graduate and post graduate clinics with good number of 300+ Outpatients reporting to the dental college. There is a comprehensive dental clinic that works from 8.oo AM to 8.00 Pm. In addition to these facilities the dental surgeons and faculty also attend to emergencies in the field of maxillofacial surgery and trauma in the clinics at the SRM Hospital is located in the same campus.

All The department provides state-of-the-art clinical care to the patients thus facilitating best clinical training to the undergraduate and postgraduate students. Facilities in the department include a modern  clinic and clinical laboratory; a spacious reception and waiting area; computer and, data-processing room, special equipments laboratory; Library; photography room; seminar room; digital cephalometric & OPG room and separate faculty & postgraduate rooms. The postgraduate students are trained in all the latest treatment methods .The departments is equipped with state of art like Biostar, Hydrosolder, Plasma arc curing light, Diode curing light, Digital cephalogram machine,CBCT machine, Carl Zeiss surgical microscope, Carl Zeiss Endodontic microscope, Lasers, FACCAD orthodontic planning software, Conscious sedation, Peizo electric surgical unit, CAD-CAM, BPS unit, 3D Printer, Digital smile designing software, Hard tissue microtome, frozen sectioning unit, linear accelerator, T-scan, diagnostic treatment planning software like dolphin imaging software and Nemoceph software.

Peripheral Clinics :
SRMDC has three additional peripheral clinics with state of art equipment located in chinna porur, MGR Nagar and West Mambalam under the purview of department of community health and these centers cater to the dental needs of the local population. 

Hostel | Sports :

All the students are offered hostel facilities (separate for boys and girls) with all amenities provided so that they do not miss their home environment and concentrate on their academic career. In addition they are also provided avenues for recreation in the form of in-door and out-door game activities for maintaining a healthy body and mind. There is also a provisional store in proximity to the hostel to meet the day to day needs of the hostel residents

Sports : Institute have a good basket ball court and badminton court within the college premises and also have the provision to hire larger sports grounds to conduct intra/ inter college sports activities. The College has a gymnasium within the campus close to the hostel that will help students maintain physical fitness.

     SRM dental college (SRMDC MDS (Master Degrees in Dental Sciences ) Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body 

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

 There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2,  Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB,  are conducted by MCC  through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024 Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

  1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
  2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

2nd Round :- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)
