The Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Vijayawada, is a Government college Established in the year of 1992. The College is affiliated to the Dr.Y.S.R University Of Health Sciences (Earlier CALLED DRNTRUHS) and recognized by Dental Council of India and Govt of India with an annual intake of 40 seats in BDS and 27 seats in various streams of Postgraduate Dental Sciences. It is one of the finest colleges in the city offering excellent patient care and has a well-equipped clinic with all the modern equipment. The clinic has separate waiting and consultation areas which allow enough space for patients to wait conveniently at the clinic.

The college provides good infrastructure to provide Dental Education to students with dedicated faculty around. Currently the college is equipped with 200+ Dental chairs and has well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment as well. There are spacious classrooms and seminar halls and an auditorium. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately. It is attached with the Government Dental Hospital for clinical practice.

1 ) MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)(50%) (Open To All)

The MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body

There will be four rounds of AIQ counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India). All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET MDS conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) will be eligible for participation in the counselling process. Eligible candidates may download the Rank letter/ Result from NBE website

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB, are conducted by MCC through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024 Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

  1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
  2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

2) Dr. Y.S.R University Of Health Sciences (Earlier CALLED DRNTRUHS) (50%) (State Domicile)

Dr.Y.S.R UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES ( Earlier CALLED DRNTRUHS) conducts Counselling For all Government and Private Colleges In Andhra Pradesh (AP). The Dr.Y.S.R UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES ( Earlier CALLED DRNTRUHS) conduct the separate counselling for State Government (CQ) Dental seats and State Management quota (MQ) seats. The counselling will be organized through online mode in which candidates have to exercise their web options.

RESERVATION IN FAVOUR OF THE LOCAL CANDIDATES:

Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to the local area as provided in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 for Non- State-Wide courses as given in Annexure-III of GO (P) No. 646, Edu. (W1) Department, dt.10-7-1979.

RESERVATIONS:

  • 15%, 6%, 29% seats of Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses are reserved for SC, ST and BC (BC-A-7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC-D-7% and BC-E-4%) candidates respectively, which are called vertical reservations.
  • Candidates claiming reservations under SC/ST/BC categories shall submit a permanent social status certificate issued by Andhra Pradesh Government as specified in the application form. The social status of SC/ST/BC candidates shall be subject to the scrutiny as per G.O.Ms.No.58 SW (J) Dept. Dt 12-5-97.
  • 33 1/3 % and 5% seats of Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses as per MCI guidelines shall be reserved for women and differently abled candidates respectively, which are horizontal reservations for PG (Medical) Courses

RESERVATION FOR ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTIONS (EWS):

The reservation of 10% in favour of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in admissions will be implemented if seats are sanctioned for EWS Quota by Govt. of India / Medical Council of India for the academic year 2020-21.

Step Wise Counselling Process Conducted By KNRUHS For Competent Authority Quota (CQ) In Government College:-

The Registration & Processing fee including 18% GST :

For OC & BC Candidates – Rs.7,080/- (Rupees Seven thousand and eighty only) (Registration fee Rs. 3,500/- + 18% GST & Processing fee Rs.2,500/- + 18% GST).

For SC & ST Candidates – Rs.5,900/- (Rupees Five thousand and Nine hundred only) (Registration fee Rs. 3,000/- + 18% GST & Processing fee Rs.2,000/- + 18% GST).

Verification Fee: In addition to the above said Registration & Processing fee:

The candidates who acquired their MBBS Degree outside the AP/TS State shall pay Rs.3,540/- (i.e., Rs.3,000/- + 18% GST)

The candidates who acquired their Under Graduate Degree in Abroad/Foreign Country shall pay Rs.8,260/- (i.e., Rs.7,000/- + 18% GST)
