About College

Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital, Pune was established in 1989 Initially it was affiliated to the University of Poona in April 1996, it became a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). The college has been recognized by the Dental Council of India. The College is housed in a building of covered area of 2,07,671.44 sq. ft. with extension of 75363 sq. ft. as a P. G. wing. in an area of 5 acres .

Open air theatre within the institution. The theatre has about 400 seating capacity. Medical college has an A/C auditorium, with 500 capacity. The auditorium is fully equipped with good audio visual system. The cultural events are conducted yearly with maximum participation of students and staff. Bank with 24 hours ATM facility and well ventilated hygienic canteen facilities are available in the campus.

The college has 180+ dental chairs in the Under Graduate and post graduate clinics with good number of 150+ Outpatients reporting to the dental college. All The department provides state-of-the-art clinical care to the patients thus facilitating best clinical training to the undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

State of the art dental clinics with sophisticated infrastructure equipped with operating microscopes , endosonics, cryosurgery, ultrasonic scalers, orthopantomography, digital radiography, computerized cephalometrics, laser fluorescence caries detectors, Advanced casting lab equipments as well as several other recent paraphernalia in each dental specialty. The Oral Pathology laboratory has a state of the art trinocular microscopes with arrangement of photographic attachment. Modern equipments like pentahead microscope, which aid in accurate diagnosis of oral diseases is also available . A well equipped Central Laboratory (BEGO) for Crown and Bridge fabrication is provided to gain technical skills in dentistry.

Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital closely associated with the 900 bedded hi-tech, super specialties Bharati Hospital which is situated in same campus with eleven state of art super specialized operation theatres and well supporting system, where dental patients are admitted and operated for major surgeries. Majority of such cases are treated free of cost. Bharati Hospital has advanced Radio diagnostic equipments like CT Scan, MRI, high resolution ultrasonic sonography machines .Bharati Hospital also has state of art ICU, NICU and Dialysis unit, which can be utilized for dental patients also. Hospital provides 24 hours casualty services to the patients. Residents of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are posted in Bharati Hospital round the clock to provide emergency services. Treatment of dental and facial trauma, facial deformities, maxillofacial infections and Oro facial malignancies is carried out efficiently with the help of Bharati Hospital by our specialists. Orthognathic surgeries are conducted in the hospital.

The library was established in 1989 as an integral part of the Dental college and hospital.Library and Information Centre occupies plinth area of (686sq mts).7381 square feet. It is having separate reading rooms for under graduate and post graduate students, with seating capacity of 150 seats.

Sports - a central sports ground facility is available for carrying out indoor and outdoor sports activities. The sports ground is managed and maintained by the college of Physical education. The ground is very spacious having an area of fourteen acres.

Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital, Pune  MDS (Master Degrees in Dental Sciences ) Counseling is conducted by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (MDS) examination conducting body 

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats .The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the  documents as and when the same are called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC

 There are multiple rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2,  Round 3 & Stray Vacancy Round. ALL four rounds of AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB,  are conducted by MCC  through ONLINE ONLY i.e., Round 1, Round 2 , Round 3, and Stray Vacancy round. In the YEAR 2022–23 (Round 3) was called the Mop-Up round, where there was no sliding (upgradation) from the 2nd round to the mop-up round, but in 2023–2024, there was an upgradation from ROUND 2 to Round 3. In 2023-2024 Stray Vacancy Round was ONLINE, but in 2022-23 Stray Vacancy Round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit. As per the directions issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021, the AIQ scheme has been modified and 04 rounds of AIQ counselling will be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW. Hence, 3rd round (earlier mop-up round) and fourth round i.e. stray vacancy round will be conducted in AIQ from 2021-22 onwards.

  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counselling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds
